Clinical practice, scientific activity and medical education.

Dr Marios Tryfonidis is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and Traumatologist. His practice covers assessment of children and adolescents, as well as orthopaedic conditions and injuries in adults.
Clubfoot and the Ponseti technique form a particular part of his practice. He combines clinical experience with academic activity in Cyprus and the United Kingdom.
Dr Marios Tryfonidis is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and Traumatologist with a particular interest in paediatric orthopaedics and musculoskeletal trauma surgery. His clinical work includes children, adolescents and adults.
His training covers musculoskeletal development from birth to adulthood. Clubfoot management using the Ponseti method is a particular area of activity, including participation in a European consensus group and educational initiatives in Cyprus.
He has led paediatric orthopaedic services at Nicosia General Hospital and N.A.M. III. He is part of the collaborating orthopaedic team at DIKTAION.
His academic experience includes an Honorary Assistant Professor role in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the St George’s Medical School, University of Nicosia, and a previous lectureship in Anatomy at the University of Sheffield. He has participated in the Democritus University of Thrace Summer Trauma School and served on the board of the British Association of Clinical Anatomists.
He is a member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has participated in the European Consensus Group on the Ponseti technique for clubfoot management and organised a Ponseti training seminar in Cyprus.
He has also served on the Cyprus Ministry of Health Committee for Bioethical Assessment of Biomedical Research.
Assessment and management of conditions and injuries, using conservative or surgical approaches where indicated.

Clinical decisions are based on the patient’s history, examination and, where required, appropriate imaging.
In children, assessment considers age, developmental stage, function and the progression of symptoms.
